South Carolina TANF
South Carolina's Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program provides cash aid and services to eligible families that have a child(ren) in the home. If a family has little or no cash and needs housing, food, utilities, clothing or medical care, they may be eligible to receive short-term assistance to help pay for necessary expenses.
South Carolina SNAP
South Carolina's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (aka SNAP or Food Stamps) helps eligible low-income households buy the food they need. It provides funds on an "EBT Card," which can be used to buy food at most grocery stores and other retailers that sell food.
South Carolina Medicaid ("Healthy Connections")
Healthy Connections is South Carolina's Medicaid program. It is a public health insurance program that provides free or low-cost health care services to certain low-income individuals, including eligible children, caretakers, seniors, people with disabilities, and pregnant individuals. The program is administered by the state, and funded jointly by the state and the federal government.
